My first post is actually a dedication to the joys of shopping offline- though the product in the spotlight was actually bought online. I
always prefer to buy physically in shops but the hype on online retail made me
rethink. After some misfires from foreign e-retailers, I went on to
Shoppers’ Stop’s site and bought a pair of Jack & Jones jeans. I have tried
their jeans in the past so the fitting generally would hopefully not be too
much of a trouble. However they did not have my exact size but since the sizing
was odd as well as even, I went one size down. The jeans arrived and they were
pretty perfect (though a bit snug). I tried them once and then just put them
away for some time. When I wore them a month later I was on a trip to the US
and they had the electronic (EAS) tag on it. This would have never have
happened in a physical store because the tag would set the alarms ringing if it
left the store on the garment.

Back to the jeans; currently in India, Jack and Jones does
some of the best mens jeans (unless you prefer certain brands that fuel our
desire but float in stratospheric price ranges....). The original Travis 245
jeans in question are great if you like the dirty, distressed look. They come
in a regular fit but hew closer to a tighter fit (I’ve got a size small but
even in the normal size the legs are cut tighter than usual - however they are 100% cotton; no stretch here!). The fabric is a
heavier denim, dark wash with distressing, whiskering (above the thighs and back of the knees) and
some bleach splatter. The pocketing is in black cotton with a branded print;
the hardware is simple and discreet (only a JJ monogram) and contrast stitching
is in light colours.

These are a season old so might not be available in shops
but J&J do a good range of jeans and there’s always good denim in their
shops.
